Services
There's been an optician on The Green in Stanford-Le-Hope since at least 1960, when Reg Staunton and John Notley acquired the premises and turned it into Staunton and Notley opticians.
Over the years new owners have come and gone and provided the local population with high-quality, affordable eye care.
In 2005 the current owner, Optometrist and local girl Lisa Neeps bought J N Ellis Opticians, as it was then, from Judith Ellis and in 2014 changed the name of the practice to Stanford Opticians.

The health of your eyes matters to you.
It matters to us too, which is why we are offering a new way to check for potentially serious conditions that can affect not only your eyes - but your overall well-being.
At Stanford Opticians we use a state-of-the-art retinal camera to take a digital photograph of the back of your eye.
This allows us to instantly diagnose a number of common conditions.
This test is non-invasive, painless, simple and quick.
What's more, this image is stored so we can monitor for changes to the condition of your retina with every eye test you have.

Adjustments and minor repairs are carried out free of charge and are usually done while you wait.
So if you've got a screw loose, your arm's fallen off, a lens popping out or you've sat on your glasses then don't worry, just call in and we will see what we can do to help.
If you need a new arm or a new front piece for your frame then it is charged at 1/4 of the price of the frame for an arm and 1/2 of the price for a new front.
Occasionally frames will need to be sent away to have work carried out on them, for example welding or drilling.
