Corrigan Opticians, now open for over 11 years, have already established an excellent reputation as one of the top opticians in the area. We are ophthalmic opticians which means we are fully trained to carry out eye tests to check the quality of your sight, look for signs of eye disease and prescribe and fit glasses and contact lenses. We have grown our reputation and we pride ourselves on being able to understand and fulfill your requirements.

Our Cookstown store has a relaxed environment, and with our expertise we can help you choose from a wide range of frames and contact lenses to suit all lifestyles and budgets.
Services
At Corrigan Opticians we understand Teenagers are conscious about their appearance and that's why we offer a wide range of frames specially designed for teenagers.
Ideal for playing sports, there is no age limit from which someone can start wearing Contact Lenses.
Prescription swimming goggles offer teenagers who enjoy the pool a chance to see while they are swimming.
Prescription sports goggles are available for those who may not feel comfortable in contact lenses.
Children can get tested from any age, and because government provision of vision screening for primary school children has been greatly reduced, it is more important than ever to get their eyes checked.
If your child has a certain prescription, is being patched or has a squint they may be entitled to a FREE second pair of glasses (see in store for details).
A new design of Varifocal has been introduced called FreeForm.
The main benefit of it is that it considers the lens as a series of points and your prescription can be calculated at these points.
This means the lens can be cut far more precisely and each lens is very much designed for you.
It helps eliminates the distortion at the edge of the lens which is a problem with standard varifocals and also helps reduce the unsteady feeling that people sometimes experience with their varifocals.
Single Vision lenses are either distance or reading glasses.
Contact Lens technology is constantly developing so new contact lenses are frequently being produced for higher and more complex prescriptions.
This means that if you haven't been able to get contact lenses in the past something may be available for you now.
We keep a wide range of Daily disposable contact lenses in stock and a large range of trial two weekly and monthly lenses so you are able to try something new at any time.
If you are new to contact lenses we will fit the lenses for you and show you how to put them in and take them out so you are confident with them.
An Eye Test is a number of small tests which can give very detailed information which the Optician can use to give an accurate assessment of your prescription.
The first is to check your prescription and the second is to check the health of your eyes.
When we check your prescription we can ascertain whether you have any of the following eye conditions.
MYOPIA is called short-sightedness.
This is when your eye is too powerful and cause objects to be focused in front of the retina.
Far away objects tend to be blurred or hazy.
