We value the relationships we have with our patients. When you walk through our doors you will experience the professionalism, expertise, care and relaxing atmosphere of our family friendly opticians in Rayleigh. I lost my glasses on the train last night! Called Rayleigh Vision this morning, had an appointment today and they have sorted me out with glasses to take away today!

Can't beat their friendly and helpful service. Can't fault them. At Rayleigh Vision Centre we take your eye care seriously. An eye examination is a very important health check. An eye test can reveal many health issues within the body such as diabetes and high blood pressure and an examination should always include health checks in addition to checking if glasses are required.

Not only does Orthokeratology help by slowing down the progression of myopia, it also corrects the vision of your child. All this is done whilst they sleep, meaning that you're in full control rather than sending them to school with soft contact lenses in.
Services
We really believe in offering you top quality eye care and taking our time to do it properly.
Rest assured that if there are any problems, we will spot them.
Firstly, you'll be asked some questions about your overall eye health, family history and any changes in your vision since your last check-up.
You'll then have a series of checks using the latest, advanced eye care technology, including retinal photography (on all suitable adults), which is a detailed digital picture of the back of your eye.
This allows us to detect eye diseases at the earliest possible stage.
The process is completely painless, quick and is carried out on all our patients as part of the GOLD EYE EXAMINATION.
Our 3D OCT eye scanner uses a low powered light to scan the back of your eye.
During your normal eye examination, your optometrist can only see the top layer of your retina.
The 3D OCT scan allows viewing of the deeper layers of retinal tissues.
It is in these deeper layers that the signs of macula degeneration, diabetes, macula holes etc. can be first seen.
It is not necessary for a child to be able to read or even speak in order for our eye professionals to check if glasses are required to improve their vision.
Rayleigh Vision Centre offers child-friendly tests that will tell us - and you - everything we need to know about your child's eye health.
Children don't have to be able to read to have an eye test.
We'll ask you about family history and check your child's sight against expected levels of development for their age.
We'll assess their vision and see if it needs correcting, then discuss the results clearly with you.
As we are an Independent Practice we have a fantastic variety of types and brands of contact lenses.
Our expertise will ensure you find the right type of contact lens to suit you and your lifestyle.
These have the advantage of being easy to wear, providing good comfort without a long period of adaptation.
Older hydrogel materials (a mixture of water and plastic polymers) are now being superseded by silicone hydrogel materials, a development introducing silicone into the plastic matrix.
These provide up to five times the oxygen permeability of the older lens materials allowing the eye to breathe more easily and promote better eye health while wearing lenses.
Whilst there is no cure for myopia, we have come a long way to understanding how it develops.
This has led the way to strategies that help slow the progression significantly.
Levels of Myopia are rising rapidly.
Whilst it may seem like a simple inconvenience of having to wear glasses or contact lenses to many, did you know that increased myopia is associated with potentially sight threatening conditions such as, myopic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma and retinal detachment?
We are one of a few Opticians in the UK who offer the latest myopia control daily disposable contact lenses from Coopervision - the MiSight lenses.
