When you visit the optician, there are a lot of different procedures and tests that can be used to check all aspects of your eye health. If you're not sure what to expect, this can sometimes be a little daunting. At Willetts & Doig Optometrists, however, you can be sure that you'll always receive a comprehensive assessment from a reassuring and experienced optometrist.
Before your optometrist starts your eye examination, they will ask you a few questions about your general health, lifestyle and family history of particular eye and medical conditions. As well as allowing them to gain an understanding of your visual requirements in everyday life, this also allows your eye test to be tailored to your personal needs.
Your eye examination will last for approximately 40 minutes, to allow time for your optometrist to thoroughly examine your eyes and vision. During this time, you will be asked to complete a series of tests which are all designed to assess your visual acuity and eye health. Once your examination is complete, your optometrist will explain their findings to you, including any updates to your prescription that might be required.
