Simon is the most thorough optician I have ever seen!
Thanks to him it was ruled out that I had had a mini stroke, but. he was able to tell me in detail just what was going on in my eyes!
I had seen a disc like object pass over my eyes on three separate occasions (2 in the left eye and one in the right).
He explained that these were fatty deposits that had come from my carotid artery in my neck.
Had they not passed in my eye they would have gone to my brain and I would not be here to tell the tale!

Technological advances have made modern lenses lighter, more comfortable, give better vision driving, and are less prone to scratching or breaking if the correct coatings have been applied and the correct lens material has been specified.

Long term exposure to UV rays can cause the protein in the lens of the eye to clump and thicken, preventing light from easily passing through the lens.
This clouding and thickening of the lens is known as a cataract, and it is the leading cause of vision loss in the world.
Ultraviolet light is a form of radiation which is not visible to the human eye.
It's in an invisible part of the "electromagnetic spectrum".
Radiated energy, or radiation, is given off by many objects: a light bulb, a crackling fire, and stars are some examples of objects which emit radiation.
