Opthalmic Opticians in 1934 and they opened this practice as L. Tobin in Archway Central Hall, soon after the completion of the building in 1936.
A second practice was opened in Archway Roda in 1946, named S. Douglas.
The two practices became well known throughout the district an in 1950 Leslie A. Todd joined the full-time staff.
In 1959 Mr. and Mrs. Douglas' elder son Gregory Douglas entered the practice and both be and Mr. Todd have been familiar faces to patients ever since.
