Services
We rely on our sight in all aspects of daily life and therefore an eye examination is essential to monitor eye health and maintain the best vision possible.
We strive to provide the most thorough eye examinations using the latest technology and equipment so you, the patient, have full confidence in our findings and recommended management.
Our eye examinations usually last about 30-40 minutes but we will advise you if you require any extra specific tests and how long these may take.
We have a general routine we perform for every patient, but as we like to treat every patient as an individual, the optometrists will tailor the examination similarly, which guarantees you a thorough examination executed smoothly, keeping you as relaxed as possible.

There are hundreds of contact lenses on the market and the choice of what to go for can seem daunting but we will carry out a full assessment and consultation with the patient.
We will discuss the various types and establish what the best option is for the individual's lifestyle requirements.
Contact lenses don't have to be worn full time and are a great alternative to glasses for sports, social occasions and holidays.
We have a great track record in fitting previously unsuccessful wearers of contact lenses.

Good vision is essential in childhood development and regular eye examinations are the key to good vision.
Research has shown that one in five school children have an undetected eye problem.
As 80% of a child's learning occurs visually, many children cannot see well enough to reach their full potential or enjoy everyday childhood activities as much as they could.
A child may not realise if their vision is not clear - they assume the way they see is normal.
Therefore regular eye examinations are advised for all children under the age of 16 at least once a year.

As part of our commitment to provide you with the very highest standard of eye care we include Retinal imaging as standard in our comprehensive eye examinations.
A state of the art Digital retinal camera is used to capture photographic images of the back of your eyes.
This technique is one of the most accurate and advanced ways of screening for many different eye diseases as it allows us to inspect the retina in far more detail compared to conventional methods which were previously relied on.
The detection of certain such conditions include Glaucoma, Diabetes, Hypertension and Age related Macular Degeneration to name a few can be made easily and earlier thus limiting any unnecessary loss of vision.

Orthokeratology, otherwise known as Ortho K, is a form of overnight vision correction with gas permeable contact lenses that are worn whilst you sleep.
When you wake up the next morning, you'll experience crystal clear vision without the need to wear glasses, or normal contact lenses during the day.
Ortho K lenses work by gently reshaping the cornea whilst you sleep.
Their primary function is to correct mild to moderate short sightedness (myopia); in some cases, patients with a prescription of up to -5.00 have even worn them successfully.
