Services
Being part of the village is very important to us, and we work hard to look after visual needs of all of our customers.
Being independent we are not tied to any particular company for our lenses, frames or contact lenses.
This means we are able to provide what is the best solution for our customers, and not be restricted to a very limited selection of suppliers.
We are registered with Surrey Primary Care Trust for direct cataract, diabetic and glaucoma referrals; which will often make your wait for treatment shorter.
No, your eye examination is completely painless.
There will be some bright lights shone into your eyes and sometimes we need to use drops and puff air towards your eyes.
There is no minimum age, as we have techniques to look at the youngest of eyes.
We always advise that all children should have a test as the earlier we pick up a problem the better the outcome of any treatment.
Remember that a child often won't know there is a problem as for them what they see is normal.
The eye examination takes between 20 and 40 minutes according to your needs and there maybe further tests required following this depending on the outcome.
Your eye examination takes between 20 and 40 minutes according to your needs and there maybe further tests required following this; depending on the ophthalmic opticians findings.
After your test you will be introduced to your Dispensing Optician who will guide you through the selection of your lenses and frames.
They will explain your options and do their best to design your spectacles, sunglasses and contact lenses to best meet your needs and budget.
When you have your eyes tested with us, you will receive a report.
Once we have talked to you about how your dry eyes affect your daily life including symptoms and medical history.
We will begin the examination.
We analyse he tears Lipid layer and the mucin layer.
The lipid layer nourishes and lubricates the ocular surfaces.
The Mucin layer makes the tear film stable, allowing the aqueous layer to stick to the surface of the eye.
Then we assess the amount of tear in the eye.
Whilst looking at this we measure how quickly the tear layers breakdown.
You can have plenty of tears, but if they are of poor quality, they breakdown quickly leaving dry patches.
Seemingly our work days are filled more and more with computers, tablets, phones and other devices.
Especially since many people are now working from home.
We work closely with Rodenstock to provide lenses that will reduce eyestrain, improve posture and give some protection from the high energy blue light we are surrounded by.
