Our messages are monitored regularly. We are an independent opticians, providing NHS and private sight examinations. Our practice specialises in all types contact lenses and we have a wide selection of designer and budget frames.

Our state-of-the-art scanning technology supports early detection and monitoring of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and many other conditions.
Services
Originally from Russia, Irena came to Wales in 2001.
Irena trained at Cardiff University before graduating in 2009 and set up Crickhowell Optometrists a year later.
Irena provides specialist care for almost 4,000 patients and following her qualification, taught 3rd year Optometry students at Cardiff University.
Irena has over 10 years' experience in optometry and has recently gained a post graduate qualification in glaucoma.
Irena is trained to carry out Low Vision Assessments and is also conduct Eye Health Examination Wales accredited.
Utilising the very latest in eye scan technologies called Optical Coherence Tomography our OCT Scan provides a non-invasive imaging method allowing detailed visualisation beneath the retinal surface to detect any abnormalities in the different retinal layers, to an almost cellular level, and monitor any changes over time.
The scan itself takes only a matter of seconds.
It is totally non-invasive, so nothing touches your eye so it's pain and discomfort free.
You will be asked to place your chin on the rest and look at a light, which may be moved according to the area scanned.
