Peacock & Row Opticians
There may be a bewildering selection of opticians on the high street, so we would like to explain why we think our practice is best for you and your family. At Peacock & Row you will be treated as an individual, in a caring, friendly, professional and unhurried manner. Our practice continues to grow through recommendations from our patients ensuring that our focus is on you and your satisfaction is our aim.

We are an independent practice - family owned and run, with no remote head office and no high-pressure sales (in fact a bit old fashioned in that respect). We stock a fantastic range of frames and lenses from high value smaller names to the latest designer brands. We really care about your eyes and make our appointments longer and more frequent than most practices.

Opticians specialize in the fitting and fabrication of ophthalmic lenses, spectacles, contact lenses, low vision aids and ocular prosthetics. The prescription for the corrective lenses must be supplied by an ophthalmologist, optometrist or in some countries an orthoptist.
Services
We really care about your eyes and make our appointments longer and more frequent than most practices.
We book at 40 minute intervals and extra time will be scheduled if necessary.
This is what the NHS covers including checking your prescription and the health of your eyes.
However, the purpose and contents of the NHS sight test were laid down in 1989, long before many of the modern tests we now use in practice were developed.
Aged 40 or over and are either parent, brother, sister or child of a person with glaucoma.
We offer a full contact lens fitting and after care service for soft and rigid gas permeable lenses.
Have you ever wondered if you would be suitable to wear contact lenses but not dared to ask?.
Have you tried contact lenses in the past and given up - too complicated and too time consuming?.
Contact lenses can now be fitted to most prescriptions even if you wear bifocals or varifocals.
They are comfortable and with new solutions, very easy and safe to use.
Most children from the age of 7* can, when instructed properly, and carefully monitored successfully, wear lenses.
