My name is Richard Mansfield, I own and run Mansfield Opticians, a small independent opticians in Wells, still England's smallest city.
I graduated from Cardiff University, at that time UWIST (University Wales Institute of Science & Technology) in 1983 and following a compulsory year gaining practical, clinical experience in Cornwall, I qualified as an optometrist in 1984.
Having married in 1986, we spent most of 1987 working in New Zealand before settling in Cambridge where I was employed to run/manage a small independent optician's practice.
