Services
Jack started as an optical workshop apprentice in 1958.
After completing his apprenticeship he studied at night school 3 nights a week to achieve the university entrance qualifications, and then studied full-time for his degree.
In 1972 when working with Prescotts in Lothian Road Edinburgh, he joined the staff of the Princess Alexandria Eye Pavilion as a sessional optician working with Professor Phillips and the other consultants.
Jack stopped this ancillary work after 25 years, but his son, Scott and another member of staff, Gillian Shanks continues to do so.

We hope you find it informative and helpful, enabling you to choose your optometrist.
We aim to give you an insight into our practice and the way we approach the care of your eyesight, which is a precious sense.
Deciding to visit any professional can be very daunting and confusing, particularly in optics where you are bombarded with "Free eye exams", "Free spectacles" and all sorts of misleading offers.
Our friendly staff at Jack Brown Eyecre offer a high level of expertise and have been with the company for significant periods of time therefore you have the assurance of seeing an experienced, familiar face at every visit.
